The British Shorthair [Tutu], noticed by the old captain of the Tai – Koo Shipping Company for its elegance and agility, was taken to the warehouse and became the ‘bane of rodents’. The western – style house then became its home. It safeguarded the safety of the goods and was regarded as the guardian deity in the sailors’ hearts.
